Prof. Dr.-Ing. C. J. Diederichs born in 1941, holds diploma degrees in civil engineering (1967) and economics in engineering (1970) and received his doctorate to become Dr.-Ing. in 1969, all from Munich Technical University, Germany.

He is professor for construction management at the University of Wuppertal, Germany, since 1981, specialising in economics in construction, management of construction companies, project management, and private construction law. Moreover, he is head of the Institution for Construction Management (IQ-Bau) also located at the University of Wuppertal since 1992.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Diederichs was elected chairman of the German Association of Construction Project Managers (DVP), situated in Berlin and Wuppertal, Germany, in 1990 and since 2005 he is honorary President. From 2003 to 2004 he was chairman of the International Construction Project Management Association (ICPMA), who is elected anually.

Since 1980, he is publicly appointed and certified expert of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria for project management, accounting and fees in building and civil engineering construction.

Since 2002 he is chairman of the supervisory board of DU Diederichs Projektmanagement AG & Co. KG in Berlin, Wuppertal and Munich, Germany.

Prof. Dr. Diederichs is looking back on more than 35 years of hands-on experience in project management and management of construction companies.

He has authored and edited numerous books and journal-articles, among others "Management Knowledge for Specialists in Construction and Real Estate", Springer-Verlag, Berlin/Heidelberg, 1999, 2nd edition 2004.

Dr.-Ing. Rainer Schofer born in 1946, studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, (1967) and received his doctorate to become Dr.-Ing. in 1981 after working for the Institute of construction management at the University of Berlin.

In 1985, after several years of practice for a consultancy company and as technical director for a real estate developer in Berlin, he founded together with Professor H. Gutsche an office of consulting engineers located in Berlin. Later on he took over the management partnership and transformed the company to “smv Bauprojektsteuerung Ingenieurgesellschft mbH” (consulting engineers).

He has got long experience in construction project management, in controlling and claim management.

Since 1990, he has been nominated official expert for project management, ascertainment of construction prices, accounting, disturbances of construction process in civil engineering. As well he is consultant in case of disputed claims in large real estate projects (e.g. debis-Potsdamer Platz, Buildings of the State of Berlin as well as several projects of traffic and transportation)

For many years he has got experience in teaching and lecturing, e. g. at TU Berlin, BTU Cottbus, FHTW Berlin, European Business School ebs, IHK Berlin, Architektenkammer (AK) Berlin, AK Hessen as well as giving In-house-Seminars for building firms and Deutsche Bahn (DB) AG.

In addition to the ICPMA he is member of GPM Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement e.V., the German Association of Construction Project Managers (DVP), gif Gesellschaft für Immobilienwirtschaftliche Forschung e.V., agenda4 - eCommunity Verein and BVS Organ des Bundesverbandes of public appointed and sworn expert.
