Professional Career

1967   Worked in the field of Artificial Intelligence with Litton Industries, Canada

1969   Worked on Computer Performance Measurements study with University of Guelph, Canada

1970   Project Manager for Control Data Corporation, Canada in the field of software evaluation and testing.

1973   Adesh returned to India to help the country embark on major computerization programs.

1974   He introduced Process Automation in the steel plant using IBM Computers.

1975   Head of IT & Project Management Services in Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited, the largest Govt. of India engineering    Undertaking. He was the youngest CEO ever to head a division there.

1982   Becomes Chairman of the Heavy Engineering Group comprising of 22 large Public Sector Undertakings.

1991   The President of Republic of India honored him with a Fellowship award for laying a strong foundation for the IT industry in India and for bridging the gap between management decision-making and IT processes.

1992   Started the Centre for Excellence in Project Management in India.

1993   Founded Project Management Associates (PMA), India – a not-for-profit registered society.

1996   He was one of 6 project management leaders elected to the Steering Committee for the Global Project Management Forum in Boston.

1997   Received the Distinguished Contribution Award from PMI for laying a strong foundation of PM globally.

1999   Becomes a Vice President of IPMA.

2005   Elected to serve as the President of IPMA 

2006   Was given Honorary Fellowship of IPMA and became Honorary Chairman of China Project Management Committee

2007   Elected to be the Chairman of IPMA.

2007   Becomes a Global advisor for PM Forum.President of International Construction Project Management Union (ICPMU)

2008   President of International Construction Project Management Association (ICPMA) 

Recently, the Government of India has appointed Adesh as one of the 6 top most professionals to become a member of a high level task force to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for 12 leading energy sector companies in India. 

In short, Adesh Jain is a legendary figure whose passion and dedication for strengthening project management is recognized worldwide. He is a visionary leader who has helped to shape the PM profession globally and is known for his dedication and concern for the global community.
