The second ICPM Forum in London was held on the 20th /21st June 2002 on the topic of “International Construction Project Management”.

This consecutive Forum has been initiated by the Deutscher Verband der Projektsteuerer (DVP) due to the increased occurrence of new contract examples in line with Anglo- American models e.g. Guaranteed Maximum Price Contracts.

The aim is to develop a unified performance schedule for the project management in Europe. Furthermore at front there are discussions of current trends in the sector of the building project management within Europe.

Members of this forum are project managers as well as representative of Federations and Universities from all over Europe, including for the first time participants from France and Austria.

The aim of this year’s conference was amongst the information of current trends in Austria and Germany, and the tendencies of training for project managers, web-based project management, the construction/lay-out of project management contracts also the presentation of amended requirements to project managers by international clients/contractors.

The conference publication can be ordered for 29 EUR from August 2002.

The next meeting will take place in Berlin on 26th and 27th June 2003.

Issues will include the comparison of the performance schedules for the structure of professional service charges in Europe and guidelines for project management contracts.
