International Construction Project Management Association (ICPMA) was founded in Berlin on 27th of June 2003

Result of the 3rd annual meeting of international construction project management representatives on the 26th and 27th of June 2003 at the ZDB (Zentralverband des Deutschen Baugewerbes) in Berlin was the foundation of an international umbrella association for Construction Project Management (ICPMA). Participants of USA, UK, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech republic and Germany decided to convey the spreading of construction project management knowledge.

The secretariate of the ICPMA is located at the CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) in Ascot, UK. As President Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. C. J. Diederichs, Chairman of the German Association of Construction Project Managers was elected unanimously. Mr. Javier Garcia-Monsalve, President of the Associación Espanola de Dirección Integrada de Proyecto (AEDIP), Madrid, was elected as Vice President unanimously.

Every member nation of the ICPMA is allowed to appoint one representative of a construction project management association, one of a project management company as well as one university professor. It is considered to accept every year three new country members. Applications should be addressed to the President of the ICPMA (mail dvpbau@uni-wuppertal.de).

The Presentations this year were "Guidelines for CPM-Contracts" (Dr. Eschenbruch, Kapellmann und Partner, Düsseldorf), "Development of a Model for PM Services and Fees in International Construction" (Britta Borg, University of Wuppertal), "The Position of the Project Manager in FIDIC-Contracts" (Axel Jäger, Schmidt-Reuter, Cologne) and "Trends of CPM in Germany" (C. J. Diederichs, University Wuppertal). The conference transcript is available for 29,00 EUR.
